At Richard-Riemerschmid-Berufskolleg we took portrait pictures of all students. that was going to be used in a common project, and to try out an new paintingeffect. We went trough the whole procedure so that we could have everything ready to start. Later we went to Spies Hecker to start the project, there we met Thomas Mund (the man that was going to lead us through the day). He went trough safetyrutines before we was allowed to go to the workshop, we were guided around the workshop to see where things were and we talked about some history etc. After that we got handed a Aluminum square plate that we matted down, washed and putted primer on it so it was ready to take it to the paintbox, he lead us to the painting room to pick out the colors we wanted and we talked about a brand new machine they have gotten hands on. It was an automatic colormixer that you just used a computer to pick out the colors you needed and the machine mixed it for you, after that we painted the aliuminum plates and let them dry, so we could take them to Trondheim and continue the project there.

ByƄsen
We started with taking the plates and prepare them to get painted one more time and put details on. After that we started with masking and paint whatever was needed to start of with the project. Later we took two layers of clearcoat, first a thin layer and after a little thicker layer. Then we took the pictures and placed them on out plates with the clearcoat not dry so the pictures could transfer via the clearcoat.
One hour later we checked if the paintings have connected to the plate, some didnt so we had to heat it up again and wait till the next day.
The last day we started heat up the paintbox again so we could just peel the picture off the clearcoat, some of the pictures didn't stick to the plate as much as the others so we had to use a heatgun to make the process go faster. After that we layed two new layers of clearcoat to get a smooth finish.
